First evening bike ride of the year

After work last night I went and met a cycling buddy of mine and we did a nice 26 mile evening ride on the north side of town. The weather was beautiful, the sun was shining, at least at first, and the temperature was somewhere around seventy degrees. Warm enough to not have to wear a lot of extra gear, but cool enough that there was a refreshing quality to the air. We made it back at just about the last possible moment before it became truly dark. I was a little bit worried about that. I’ve got a tail-light, but I wasn’t one-hundred percent about the batteries in it, and I never did get a good headlight. Well, the good thing is that from here on out it is only going to be staying lighter later, at least for a few months.

I picked up some chinese food for dinner on the way home, which perhaps wasn’t the best choice, but it sort of hit the spot anyway. Still, I need to remember to avoid that particular chinese restaurant. I think they really aren’t all that good.

I’m hoping there will be plenty more evening rides as the season progresses. It’s a nice way to unwind from the day.
