I was out for about 29.5 miles this morning on the bike. It was fairly pleasant, although sort of grey out. In fact I think there was the faintest mist in the air at one point, although I was never really concerned about rain. I think the temperature was right around 70 degrees when I began, and obviously warmed up as I rode.
I did fewer miles than last weekend, which I believe I never posted about—Oh well, but I tried to keep the pace high, and hit the hills hard. In other words, I made it a hard ride, for me. Average was 16.2 mph, which is definitely better than some of my other recent rides. I really need to work on the speed, I just don’t have very much right now.
I did see a flash of a deer while I was out…tail disappearing into the trees. Lots of cows were out and near the fences, stopping their grazing to stare at me as I passed. Not much other wildlife however aside from the seemingly ever present geese. Traffic was light, which is one of the main reasons I like riding on Sunday mornings early.
