Christmas Eve happenings
It’s Christmas Eve, and Marcella and I have been watching It’s a Wonderful Life on DVD. We’ve had a fairly quiet day. We each ran a few very quick errands, but for the most part we stayed at home, listened to Christmas music all morning, took a nice walk around the neighborhood, grabbed a couple lattes at Starbucks, and stayed relaxed and just enjoyed the time away from the office and the frenzy.
I think a little later tonight we will likely watch Little Women (1994), which is our own little Christmas tradition. I know it isn’t strictly a Christmas movie, but it somehow seems to capture the same sort of spirit of the season that makes it a favorite for me at this time of year.
I hope all of our friends and family out there are having a wonderful evening and are preparing for a great Christmas tomorrow.
Thanksgiving Day Parade
Sometimes you forget just how bizarre the Thanksgiving Day Parade can be.
We’ve been watching it some this morning. I don’t think I’ve paid much attention to it the past few years, but it is kind of fascinating me today.
4th plans
Lazy day…
My plans for the 4th are to drink coffee…work on my bike—install a new cassette and chain, and do some general cleanup and maintenance.
Other than that, I think we’ve got a pretty flexible schedule. I don’t know if Marcella has plans to see a movie? That might be nice.
I’m sure I will be watching my online chess games to see if I need to make any moves.
I also am planning on spending some time looking over the riders and teams for the Tour de France starting on Saturday. I want to think a little more about who I’m picking for the podium spots as well as the other jersey competitions like the sprint and king of the mountains competitions.
I hope all of you out there are having a great 4th of July, whether you have bigger or simpler plans than mine.
